Message from the Administrator

The Chickasaw Nation Higher Education fall scholarship and grant application deadline is approaching soon. Completed applications are due to the higher education department September 1, 2009.

Dear Chickasaw Student:

Welcome to the home page of the Chickasaw Nation Division of Education Services. The website is an excellent tool for educators, students in the public schools and current or potential post secondary students. From this site, you will be able to access program information and applications for assistance.

Student handbooks from our higher education program, as well as those from the Johnson O'Malley Program, are available for you to view or print. These handbooks are there for your convenience. It is recommended that you read the handbook that pertains to your current situation and become familiar with the requirements and policies as they are stated.

In addition to information on our programs, you may also find several links and student tools that will be beneficial to you. In particular, the link to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) is very important when seeking grants and scholarships from the Chickasaw Nation. It is required that all undergraduate students apply for federal aid by completing the FAFSA. You will also find a GPA Calculator under Student Tools. This tool is great when you want to figure your GPA and find out what you need to do in order to raise it.

The website will be growing and changing as we adjust our programs to fit the needs of Chickasaw students. We encourage you to visit our site frequently for updates and announcements that may be posted.

Please note the deadline dates that are posted on the grant and scholarship applications from the Chickasaw Nation as well as from other sources.

Best wishes in your academic endeavors!

Sincerely,

Lisa John, Administrator
The Division of Education
